Peter Maxwell
Peter Maxwell is Assistant Director – Planning and Place at the Cambridge Growth Company. He brings over 20 years' experience as a public sector client across planning, design, regeneration, and housing.
From 2015 to 2025, Peter was a senior leader within the development directorate at the London Legacy Development Corporation, serving as Director of Design. In that role he led the masterplanning of over 5,000 homes alongside new public spaces and infrastructure at the Olympic Park, and directed the design delivery of the Stratford Waterfront cultural quarter — encompassing Sadler's Wells, the London College of Fashion, the BBC, and the V&A.
A qualified architect, town planner, and chartered surveyor, Peter holds appointments with the Design Council, Harlow and Gilston Garden Town, and High Speed Rail 2, and was a member of the National Infrastructure Commission Design Group. He is a trustee of Design South East and has written on embedding design quality into large, complex public sector projects.
